Coastal Garden

The existing garden is adjacent to Widewater lagoon near Shoreham in Sussex. It is south facing and is sheltered from the sea by a man-made shingle bank.

The client wanted to replace a small terraced area with some planting to compliment a large existing cardoon (Cynara cardunculus) which we did by adding coastal plants such as Salvia × digenea, Agapanthus 'Loch Hope', Eryngium giganteum, Artemisia stelleriana 'Boughton Silver' and Astelia 'Silver Shadow'PBR with some Allium 'Globemaster' and Iris 'Silver Edge' (Sib) for some spring colour.

We’ve replaced the existing stone walls with railway sleepers to compliment the timber decking.
